The Central Training Institute, Mannuthy organised a three day Vacation Camp for high school students who have completed 8th standard last academic year. The camp is named as “Njangalum Krishiyilekk - Chilluvum Koottukarum”.
The camp was inaugurated by Sri. Sunny Chennikkara, Vice President Madakkathara Panchayath, at Karshaka Bhavanam on 24th May. Dr. S. Helen, Professor & Head, Central Training Institute, Mannuthy welcomed the participants. Dr. Jayasree Krishnankutty, Director of Extension, Kerala Agricultural University gave the presidential address.
The scientists from KAU handled the sessions on scope of agricultural courses, homestead kitchen garden and flower garden. Along with the institution visits there were hands-on practical sessions on grow bag preparation, seed ball preparation, flower arrangement, as well as Kokedama and Terrarium making. Twenty five selected students from the different districts of Kerala attended this free camp.
